As a prolific songwriter, I don't want to wait until I have the final polished studio version of each song I write. At my current recorded to unrecorded songs ratio, that would take decades. I've been trying to document many of my songs by video and make them available to you here. Every December I do a #decembercreativeflurry, where I put out as many videos as I can, so you can have access to the songs you've heard at my shows that are not yet recorded, and you can explore new & old songs as well! NO ONE’S GONNA TAKE THE MUSIC AWAY No one’s gonna take the music away from me No one’s ever gonna take the music away I still remember the symphony playing inside of me when I walked home from therapy and realized that I could leave the man who tried to take the music away from me I heard a symphony For three years he’d protest when I whistled hummed or sang He said there’s better ways to use my precious brain But the damned songs wrote their damned selves anyway Cause no one’s gonna take the music away from me No one’s ever gonna take the music away You can break my bones, You can wreck my home, You can rape my body, You can take my money, You can throw things at me But it’s written in my soul It’s given through me Broken or whole Cause no one’s gonna take the music away from me Even in death, I suspect There’s a whole lot of singing © Chelsea Coleman 2018
